'Pop-up' offers tastes of Canada

Next week, the Consulate General of Canada in New York City will set up "Pop-Up Canada" Downtown to spotlight ties between our region and Canada (canadapgh.com).

Part of the festivities will give Pittsburghers tastes of Canada.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 7, 1:30 to 5 p.m. on April 8, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 9, Greg Waters, chef at Northern Edge Algonguin in Ontario's Algonquin Park, will be serving samples of his Sausage/Veg Puff Pastry. The Pop-Up also will be serving samples of wine from Ontario's Cave Springs Cellars.

The temporary consulate is located in the former Office Depot at 623 Smithfield St.
