For ladies soothing a broken heart this Valentine's Day, here's a handbag line to help you bounce back in style.
Rhode Island-based d'andrea handbags has a line of purses called The Mister Collection with names commemorating types of ex-boyfriends such as Mr. Player, Mr. Never Again and Mr. Right Now.
Designer Nicole D'Andrea says she was inspired by women's stories of love gone wrong. Some are simple and reminiscent of Chanel with quilted patterning and chain shoulder straps. Others pack some punk, such as the spike-embellished clutches. On average, bags run from $85 to $425.
Fall 2014 will mark the launch of the brand's third seasonal collection, although Ms. D'Andrea's design background spans about a decade, including stints studying fashion and design in Chicago and Milan.
Just like memories of a lost lover, bags' styles are classic enough to last for years. Next up on the brand's agenda: leather accessories for men known as The Misses Collection.
The website, www.dandreahandbags.com, is under construction as the brand prepares to launch its latest designs. Check back for boutiques that carry the bags. Visit d'andrea handbags on Facebook to learn more.
