Hollywood's stars attended the Golden Globes in daring, classic and red-hot choices. Here's are three of the night's top trends.
Keeping it chic with capped sleeves
Capped sleeves cropped up a lot on the red carpet, adding coverage and class to celebs such as Elisabeth Moss in a black-and-oxblood beaded J. Mendel, Cate Blanchett in lace black Armani and a pregnant Drew Barrymore in a pink fantasy land of floral appliques by Monique Lhuillier. Zooey Deschanel was among those who wore it best. She paired a champagne-colored cropped top with a full asymmetrical skirt for an ultimate casual-meets-luxe look by Oscar de la Renta. (And don't forget her signature nail art!)
Radiant in red
And the red-hot hue of the night was ... red. Taylor Swift did it in cherry by Carolina Herrera, while Julia Louis-Dreyfus went fire-engine bright with a figure-flattering gown by Narciso Rodriguez.
The showstopper was "12 Years a Slave" actress Lupita Nyong'o, who looked radiant in a Ralph Lauren gown with cape. She kept the accessories simple (as did many stars) with a pair of stone stud earrings, living up to her spot on Vogue's list of rising style stars to watch.
Dresses with drama
Stars brought a healthy dose of drama to the red carpet with full silhouettes that demanded attention. Sofia Vergara stepped out in a black Zac Posen ball gown ("I feel like I'm carrying a tent," she said), while Lena Dunham had a yellow mermaid moment in another Posen design.
Jennifer Lawrence kept it classic with white Dior, complemented by her cute pixie cut. Kaley Cuoco Sweeting's Rani Zakhem gown with corset-style bodice was another eye-catcher for its sweet blush tones and rich-yet-subtle floral pattern.
