International spots offer alternatives to turkey.
The region’s next brewery, and the only one in a movie theater, opens Saturday, at least partially.
The guys behind Abjuration Brewing Co., who have set up shop in the Parkway Theater in Stowe, aren’t fully open yet, but they are propping open the back doors, on Penn Alley there from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
Beer fans are invited to stop in for a look-see at the brewhouse, for samples and to purchase a growler or two filled with the first beers.
When the brewery opens, and no word yet on exactly when that will be, it willl share the Parkway Theater — at 644 Broadway Ave. in the main business district of Stowe/McKees Rocks — and its 45-seat screening room with its Film Lounge.
Until the state Liquor Control Board gives its OK to Abjuration opening its tap room, the place will be open only by special permit, says co-owner and head brewer Dave Hallam. Learn more on the brewery’s Facebook page and at http://www.abjurationbrewing.com and http://communityreelartscenter.org.
