Cure's liquor license

Justin Severino has confirmed in more colorful language than these pages allow that Cure in Lawrenceville has secured a liquor license.

Should all go as planned, the restaurant will serve alcohol by early December. Through the holidays, diners will have a choice of wines by the glass, craft beers on draught and in a handful of big bottles, "with Yuengling to keep the yinzers happy," he quipped.

Come January, Cure is slated to have an expanded bar and craft cocktail program. "I'm going to build a bar," he said. "And it's going to be awesome." He is sourcing reclaimed materials, in keeping with the restaurant's design. "It's been intensive planning and sourcing." His partners who helped him build and design Cure are in on the expansion.

"I don't know what's more fun," said Mr. Severino. "Building or owning a restaurant."

Racicot will reopen Notion

Chef David Racicot has signed a lease to reopen Notion (he's hoping on Dec. 31) at 128 S. Highland Ave. in East Liberty. He originally opened Notion in Oakmont on New Year's Eve 2010.
