The Post-Gazette story on the Marcus family ("Family's Century-old Passover Tradition Alive, Well" March 25) was quite refreshing. I wish for them at least another century of celebration.

I can relate to this family since my own grandparents (Slovak) came to this country just before the start of the 20th century. However, the story triggered a memory of an incident long ago. About 50 years ago when working for a sign and supply business, I was installing bronze memorial plaques in a synagogue in Squirrel Hill. I have always felt that it was pretty unusual for a Roman Catholic to spend Good Friday afternoon in a Jewish house of prayer.

Chag Pesach Sameach and Happy Easter.
