Holly Burtner-Moore joined Mars National Bank as retail banking manager of the Penn Township office.


John P. Friel, former president and chief executive officer of MEDRAD Inc., joined Blue Water Growth LLC as director.


Family Hospice and Palliative Care appointed Christopher M. Hughes as a full-time team physician.

The Spina Bifida Association of Western Pennsylvania appointed Rachel E. Zalewski to its board of directors.

The board of Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania elected new members. They are Marijane E. Treacy, corporate director for employee and labor relations for the West Penn Allegheny Health System, part of the Allegheny Health Network; and Wendy Roehrich Hall, business development director, American International Group Inc.

Professional Services

American Textile Co. added two new executives to its board of directors. They are John Burke, chief executive officer, Armada Supply Chain Solutions, and Charles Bitzer, chief operations officer, Abarta Inc.


Ainsworth Pet Nutrition promoted Faith Radcliffe to senior vice president, sales and marketing.

Awards and Honors

The AIA-MBA Joint Committee announced that Luke Desmone is the recipient of the 2013 James Kling Fellowship Award. Mr. Desmone is the founding partner of Desmone & Associate Architects. The James Kling Fellowship Award was established by the AIA-MBA Joint Committee to recognize those individuals who best exemplify collaboration between the design and constructor professions.

Laurie Barkman, chief operating officer, GENCO Marketplace, a wholly owned subsidiary of GENCO, was selected to receive one of the National Diversity Council's "2013 Most Powerful & Influential Woman" awards. The award recognizes leadership excellence in the public and/or private sectors.
