Thomas C. Doyle joined First Commonwealth Bank as vice president/loan workout officer.

Huntington Bank's Pittsburgh Region named Michael C. Pindell as commercial region manager.

The PNC Financial Services Group Inc. appointed Andrew Feldstein to its board. Mr. Feldstein is co-founder, chief executive officer and chief investment officer of BlueMountain Capital Management LLC.


Portia Weston was named the president of the Rotary Club of Pittsburgh.


DQE Communications appointed James W. Morozzi president and CEO.


Education Management Corp. appointed Tyler D. Gronbach as senior vice president of corporate communications.


Catalyst Connection promoted Thomas Reed to managing director, marketing and community outreach, and Allison Marsiglio to accounting manager.

Bruno A. Bonacchi was appointed chief financial officer of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, effective January 1, 2014. Mr. Bonacchi succeeds Frederick P. O'Brien, who announced his retirement at the end of this year.

2013 SAG-AFTRA Ohio-Pittsburgh local election results for a two-year term: Mark Roberts, national board member; Paul Martino, president; Joe Gunderman, vice president; Mark Roberts, secretary; and Jay Silvers, local board member -- Pittsburgh Seat.

Awards and Honors

Professional Compounding Centers of America named Joe Bettinger Pharmacist of the Month. Mr. Bettinger has been the owner of Hieber's Pharmacy since 2000 and has over 20 years' experience compounding medicines.

Von A. Campanella completed his Global Leadership Professional designation in conjunction with the Wharton Business School -- University of Pennsylvania and the Global Business Travel Association. This two-year program is the highest educational credential one can achieve in the business travel/commercial aviation industry. Mr. Campanella is Delta Air Lines' district sales manager responsible for National Account sales in the Northeast United States.

Direct Energy and Pittsburgh Magazine honored Scott Pipitone, president and CEO of Pipitone Group, as the 2013 Pittsburgh Small Business Community Heroes awardee for his dedication to community investment and revitalization. Mr. Pipitone was chosen for his personal contributions as well as his Observatory Hill-based integrated marketing communications firm's commitment to helping dozens of area non-profits advance their missions to benefit thousands of people. During the past six years the company has provided pro bono marketing services to the tune of more than $230,000 of in-kind contributions for organizations such as Strength & Courage: Exercises for Breast Cancer Survivors; the Northside/Northshore Chamber of Commerce; Ingomar Living Waters; and many others.

Grossman Yanak & Ford LLP said its founding partner, Robert J. Grossman, was presented with the Thomas R. Porter Lifetime Achievement Award, bestowed by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. This award, named in honor of a deceased NACVA member, is presented annually to a single professional, among the organization's 6,500 members.
