Grossman Yanak & Ford LLP hired Andrew R. Giallonardo and James B. Gross as associates in the assurance and advisory services group.

Rothschild Doyno Collaborative said Melanie Buzgan Dower was named an associate.

Associations & Organizations

Four residents from Western Pennsylvania have been elected to leadership positions with ATHENA International. Kathryn Lima, founder and president, Faro Enterprises, was elected vice chair; Colleen Moore Mezler, president and CEO, Moore Research Services Inc., and Ellen Ruddock, past chair and nonvoting emeritus member of the board; have been elected to the Executive Committee. Elected to the Board of Directors is Charles A. Spadafora, president, Colonial Motor Mart, Indiana Township.

Education

Gretchen Givens Generett was named an associate dean for graduate studies and research in Duquesne University's School of Education.

Engineering

Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. hired Daniel J. Larkin, assistant project manager, civil/site, and Elizabeth G. Smith, corporate recruiter.

Foundations

The Buhl Foundation said Diana Bucco will be joining the foundation as its new vice president. Ms. Bucco, currently president of The Forbes Funds, will head up strategic initiatives at the Foundation as well as assisting in its overall grants programming.

Health Care

Premier Medical Associates hired John Stefanowicz, director of revenue cycle management, and Kelly Valchar, human resources manager.

Libraries

Amanda Sargent, associate at Burns White, and Ryann Cindrich, education consultant in the sciences, were elected to the board of The Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall.

Museum

The Frick Art & Historical Center elected Alex Scott and Carolyn D. Duronio to its board of trustees. Ms. Duronio and Mr. Scott were elected to serve as term trustees. Mr. Scott is president of Center Associates Realty Corp., and Ms. Duronio is a partner in the business and finance department at Reed Smith.

Nonprofit

Crossroads Foundation hired two new staff members: Charles Langston, counselor, and Esther Mellinger Stief, manager for research and special projects.

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy elected Felix G. Fukui to its board. Mr. Fukui has owned and managed Fukui Architects since 1991.

Professional Services

Select International hired Amanda Kraemer, interactive developer; Danielle Scotti, marketing and social media coordinator; and Dillon Hoeft, multimedia marketing specialist.

Elise Walton was appointed senior partner at The Continuous Learning Group Inc.

Awards/Honors

Gil Davis, managing director, CSD financial and partner, Case | Sabatini, won the Five Star Wealth Manager Award, acknowledging him as one of the top wealth managers in client satisfaction by Pittsburgh Magazine for the fourth year in a row.

Dawne S. Hickton, vice chair, president and CEO, RTI International Metals Inc., is featured in the inaugural issue of STEMconnector's100 Women Leaders in STEM.

President Barack Obama named Luis von Ahn of Carnegie Mellon University, as a recipient of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers. Mr. von Ahn is the A. Nico Habermann associate professor of computer science at Carnegie Mellon. The PECASE program recognizes scientists and engineers who, early in their careers, show exceptional potential for leadership at the frontiers of knowledge.
