West Penn system reports revenue

The West Penn Allegheny Health System posted a net profit of $200,000 in the third quarter of the current fiscal year but showed an operating loss of $5.2 million, according to financial documents released today.

That compares with a net $5.8 million loss and $8.2 million operating loss for the same quarter a year ago. Through three quarters of the current fiscal year, the health system had a net profit of $7.2 million and an $11.6 million operating loss. For the first three quarters for fiscal 2009, WPAHS had a net loss of $27.3 million and operating loss of $34.7 million.
