Ernest B. Orsatti of Rothman Gordon was named Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2014 for employment and labor.

The Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania announced the appointment of attorney Stephan K. Todd as vice chair. The Disciplinary Board is an independent agency under the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction, consisting of 13 members: 11 attorneys and two non-lawyers. It assists the Supreme Court in all matters involving attorney licensing and discipline.

Mr. Todd retired from United States Steel Corp. as vice president of law and environmental affairs in February 2007. He is retired from the Army Reserve with the rank of colonel. He received his law degree from Valparaiso University.

Carla Schiff Donnelly, Gentile, Horoho & Avalli, P.C., was named to the executive council of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession for 2014-15. Additionally, she will co-chair the organization‘‍s annual spring conference.

Ms. Donnelly focuses her practice on divorce litigation, with a concentration on high asset financial and complex custody issues, including grandparent rights matters. Previously, she practiced family law for 11 years at Stern and Edlin, P.C., in Atlanta. She received her law degree from Emory University.

James W. Creenan, founding partner, Creenan & Baczkowski, was elected president of the Allegheny County Bar Association.

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney said Stefi Peralta Porter, associate, was named to the Lawyers of Color’s Hot List honoring early- to mid-career minority attorneys in the Eastern region. Ms. Porter focuses her practice on a full range of corporate transactional and general commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, securities law compliance, commercial lending and general corporate governance.

David S. Pollock, Todd M. Begg, Brian C. Vertz, Candice L. Komar and Daniel H. Glasser of Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC have been named to the list of 2014 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers. In addition, Mr. Pollock and Ms. Komar were named among the 2014 Top 50 Pittsburgh Super Lawyers. Ms. Komar earned distinction as one of the Top 50 Women Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for the sixth year in a row.

Three of the firm’s associates were named to the 2014 Pennsylvania Rising Stars listings — a ranking reserved for lawyers less than 40 years old: Benjamin E. Orsatti, Angelica L. Revelant and Joseph R. Williams.

Beck & Thomas, P.C. said Clay P. Hughes joined as a shareholder. His practice has focused on intellectual property litigation, counseling, licensing and commercial transactions. Mr. Hughes joins Beck & Thomas, P.C. from Reed Smith. He received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
