Associations and Organizations

Pennsylvania Association of Credit Management named officers for 2014-15. They are:

Chairman, Gregory J. Creighan, Philips Respironics; president, Harold D. Booth, Pennsylvania Association of Credit Management; first vice chairman, Patrick Rush, Highway Equipment Co.; second vice chairman, Nancy A. Gilkey, CTR Parking Solutions LLC; and treasurer, Jeffrey C. O'Leary, Big Heart Pet Brands.


Robert V. Addoms joined Mars National Bank as vice president, commercial banking.


ABC Supply Co. Inc. named Marc Kramer manager of its Ohio Valley District. He will be based in Carnegie.


Arthur S. Levine was appointed the John and Gertrude Petersen dean, marking the first time in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's 128-year history that an endowed chair has been established exclusively for the school's dean.

Game Design/Development

Schell Games announced the appointment of Harley Baldwin White-Wiedow as vice president of design, effective June 3.


Patricia Wegener was hired as an account analyst at Henderson Brothers Inc.


Koppers Holdings Inc. said Leroy M. Ball, vice president and chief financial officer, was elected to the newly created position of chief operating officer.


Pittsburgh Musical Theater named Colleen Petrucci executive director.

Awards and Honors

Wesley Thorne, associate director for employer relations at Carnegie Mellon University's Career and Professional Development Center, will receive the NACE Chevron Award, the National Association of Colleges and Employers' highest honor for innovative programs in career services, at the organization's national conference in June. His winning entry recognizes the CPDC's Campus Engagement Day as a best practice for providing employers opportunities to exchange ideas and build partnerships with faculty, staff and student organizations.

Marc USA won two best in category awards in the 2014 Internet Advertising Competition held annually by the Web Marketing Association. The agency's work for the Rite Aid Online Nail Extravaganza won Best Fashion or Beauty Online Campaign, and its Cooper Tire Facebook Fans Share "Everyday Roadtrips" won Best Manufacturing Social Media Campaign.

Helen Cahalane was named Social Worker of the Year by the local chapter of the National Association of Social Workers at a ceremony at Pitt. Ms. Cahalane has spent much of her career as director of the Child Welfare Education for Leadership Programs -- a Pitt-based initiative designed to advance child welfare caseworkers as social work professionals; recruit social workers to the child welfare field; and provide statewide education and training for all those working and connected to the child welfare system across Pennsylvania. It's the second-oldest and second-largest program of its type in the United States.

Herbert, Rowland & Grubic Inc. was named one of the top 500 design firms in the United States by Engineering News-Record magazine.

Cranberry resident and McDonald's restaurant owner/operator Paul Sweeney was awarded the prestigious Fred L. Turner Golden Arch Award for outstanding restaurant management and service at the McDonald's Worldwide Convention.

The award is only given to 1 percent of McDonald's owner/operators across the world out of more than 5,000 owner/operators worldwide.

Jill Jayne was awarded the Emerging Dietetic Leader Award at the annual state meeting of the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (formerly the Pennsylvania Dietetic Association) last month. The Emerging Dietetic Leader Award recognizes the activities and competence of dietitians regardless of their age, who have made distinctive contributions early in their career to the academy.

A registered dietitian and professional musician, Ms. Jayne developed "Jump with Jill, The Rockstar Nutritionist," the accompanying audio CD "Get Me Goin'" and the Nutrition Rock Invasion teacher toolkit.
