Dr. Christopher D. Harner, medical director for the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine, will be installed as the 41st president of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Communications

MarketSpace Communications hired Michael Boory as digital developer, promoted Jen Yavorsky to digital marketing manager and Dustin McGrew was named senior digital developer.

Engineering

RETTEW hired Brian P. Dietrich, senior bridge engineer, bridge engineering division; David J. Durofchalk, senior environmental scientist, natural sciences division; M. Sean Joyce, senior surveyor; and Steven M. Siegfried, project manager, energy services division.

Herbert, Rowland & Grubic Inc. hired Andrew J. Longenecker as an environmental project manager.

Health

Monongahela Valley Hospital and its parent organization, Mon-Vale Health Resources Inc., elected officers for 2012-2013. John D. Fry, president and owner, Procurement Specialty Group Inc., was re-elected chairman of the board of Mon-Vale Health Resources Inc. and chairman of the board of trustees Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. In addition, R. Carlyn Belczyk, owner of Guthrie, Belczyk & Associates PC, was re-elected vice chairman. Jeff M. Kotula, president of Washington County Chamber of Commerce, was re-elected secretary of both boards. Dr. John A. Holets of Monongahela Valley Hospital and Kevin Lee, owner of Lee Supply Co., were elected to the board of Mon-Vale Health Resources Inc. Bradley M. Bassi, attorney with Bassi, McCune & Vreeland P.C., was elected to both boards. Members of the Mon-Vale Health Resources Inc.'s Board who also were elected to serve on the hospital's board of trustees include: James C. Grech, senior vice president, CNX Land Resources, CONSOL Energy Inc.; Dr. R. G. Krishnan, immediate past president, Monongahela Valley Hospital's Medical Staff; and Jamie L. Prah, corporate controller/treasurer, First Federal Savings Bank. Also re-elected to the Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc.'s board were: James J. Connolly, Karen L. Quinto, Steven J. Sukal and Charles W. Zubritsky III. Those re-elected to both Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc.'s Board and Monongahela Valley Hospital's Board of Trustees included: Dr. Michal Lementowski, William J. Miller Jr. and Charles R. Muia.

Library

Northland Public Library Foundation named Kellie Kaminski as its new director.

Nonprofit

Jason Snyder, senior vice president of WordWrite Communications, was appointed to the board of directors of Circle C Youth and Family Services.

Familylinks named the following to its board: Chair, Charles W. Kenrick; vice chair, Arita L. Gilliam-Rue; secretary, Ruby J. Agras; and treasurer, Tony Matteo. In addition, new members were elected to the board. They are: Gwyn Cready, novelist and marketing consultant; Drew Goldstein, manager of RoundSquare Properties LLC; and Clarence Dozier, managing director, Legal Litigation & Risk Management at FedEx Ground Package System.

Baptist Homes Society named Jack Miller vice president of development for the Baptist Homes Foundation.

Dennis W. McCurdy was appointed a director of Historic Harmony.

Pressley Ridge has named three executive directors for their respective state/geographic regions as follows. Jane Wintz, executive eirector-PA; Angie Hamilton, executive director-WV, VA, OH; and Coni Grant, executive director-DE, MD.

Oil/Gas

Range Resources hired new employees to its Southern Marcellus Shale Division. They are: Alexander Bentz, measurement technician; Ian Lang, landman; Jennifer Snyder, human resources generalist;Ken Walsh, production engineer; and Carla Gianni Young, land technician.

Sales

Lorraine A. Mason was promoted to manager at Lois Guinn Framing & Art Gallery.

Awards

Steve "Stevo" Parys of the South Side has met the acceptance criteria and has joined the Directors Guild of America as a first assistant director, qualified to work in all three DGA jurisdictions: Southern California, New York Area and Third Area.

The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics named George Sliman, athletic director at Carlow University, as its 2011-2012 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Northeast Region Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year Award recipient.

Mr. Sliman has raised standards and implemented changes that have brought the athletics program a level of distinction. He revitalized the Student-Athlete Association and implemented "Champions of Character" training for all coaches and student-athletes. Mr. Sliman has kept student-athlete academic achievement a high priority throughout his tenure.
