Kelly L. Macheska was named director of the emergency department at Monongahela Valley Hospital.

Liberty Insurance Agency of Pittsburgh hired Andrew Forish as a commercial insurance account executive.

DIRECTV Sports Networks said Shawn McClintock was promoted to senior vice president and general manager of FSN Pittsburgh.

Nonprofit

Travelers Aid Society of Pittsburgh named members to its board. They are Angie Longo, interim executive director, Lydia's Place and Deborah J. Scotto, director of operations and accounting services, Bookminders.

The Coalition for Christian Outreach hired Anita Carruthers as director of human resources and Nikki Thorpe, administrative assistant to the chief operating officer.

Real Estate

Oxford Development Co. hired Shawn Fox as its director of business development and as vice president of business development for Oxford Real Estate Advisors Inc.

Awards/Honors

Fraser Fleming, professor in Duquesne University's Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, received the President's Award for Excellence in Scholarship. Mr. Fleming, who teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in organic chemistry, is recognized as the leader in the field of chemistry of unsaturated nitriles.

Richard Piacentini, executive director, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, received the esteemed 2010 Leadership Award from the U.S. Green Building Council. The awards recognize individuals who exemplify vision, leadership and commitment to the evolution of green building design and construction in the private, public and nongovernmental organization sectors.

James P. McDonald, BNY Mellon's head of global philanthropy and employee programs, was honored as part of an elite group of University of Pittsburgh alumni during the university's 2010 homecoming festivities. Pitt named him to the Legacy Laureate Society for service to the community and business and civic accomplishments, as well as the inspiring example he sets for BNY Mellon's 47,000-plus employees about caring for their communities.

Diane M. Pearson and Louis P. Stanasolovich of Legend Financial Advisors, Inc. were selected by Pittsburgh Magazine as one of the Pittsburgh area's 2010 FIVE STAR Wealth Managers.

Joan Ellenbogen, managing partner, CrawfordEllenbogen, was identified by the profession's premier national trade publication, Accounting Today, as one of 10 women "worth watching" who inspire the accounting profession. Ms. Ellenbogen advises family-owned and closely held businesses and their owners on domestic and international business, tax, estate and succession matters, as well as providing traditional accounting services.

The National Academy of Arbitrators said Jane Minnich was admitted to membership. The professional organization fosters the highest standards of integrity, competence and character among labor and employment arbitrators in the United States and Canada.
