Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s board of trustees elected new trustees and officers. The following new members will serve a three-year term: Carolyn Hess Abraham, executive director, corporate and foundation relations at Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business; Mary Murrin, social investment team lead, Chevron U.S.A.; and LaShawnda Thomas, senior director, accounting and financial reporting, CMU. Trustees re-elected to a second three-year term: Lafe Metz, chair of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's real estate practice group; Matt Mohn, partner with Reed Smith LLP; and Raymond Robinson, program administrator for Children’s Services in Jefferson County, Ohio. Officers elected for terms ending May 2018: vice chairs Percy Simpson, senior vice president and director of line of business marketing for PNC Financial Services Group, and Gregory Zovko, retired vice president and controller of U.S. Steel Corp.; secretary Bruce Kraus, president of City Council and representative of District 3; and treasurer Cindy Gerber, principal partner, Gerber & Gerber LLC and head of the Cindy & Murry Gerber Foundation. Carol Robinson, president of Robinson Management, will continue in her second year of a two-year term expiring May 2017 as board chair. In addition, Patricia Siger and Gregory Zovko were appointed life trustees.
United Way of Southwestern PA named Charlie Batch, Patrick Gallagher, James McGill and Robert Rogalski to its board for three-year terms. Mr. Batch is founder of Best of the Batch Foundation. Mr. Gallagher is chancellor and CEO, University of Pittsburgh. Mr. McGill is president of Electrical Sector – Americas, Eaton. Mr. Rogalski is chief executive officer of Excela Health.
VisitPittsburgh hired Scott Hershberger as director of tourism and cultural heritage.
PGT Trucking Inc. promoted Chad A. Marsilio to vice president, commercial.

The American Nurses Foundation, the charitable and philanthropic arm of the American Nurses Association named Jacqueline Collavo of Allegheny Health Network’s West Penn Hospital as the Honor A Nurse 2015 Nurse of the Year. Sponsored exclusively by Wolters Kluwer and its Lippincott Solutions software suite, the program acknowledges nurses who have made a difference in the lives of others while raising money for the foundation. Ms. Collavo has spent 33 years of her nursing career at West Penn and is currently director of the hospital’s nursing operations and magnet recognition program.
