Travelers flying to Chicago from Pittsburgh on American Airlines will have a little more leg room and more overhead storage space on their flights.

Pittsburgh is one of three cities where the airline is christening a larger regional jet with an inaugural flight Friday.

The Embraer E-175 jet, to be operated by Republic Airlines for American, will have the largest full-class cabin in American's regional fleet. It will feature 12 first-class seats and 64 in the main cabin, including 20 with extra legroom.

The plane also will have full-size overhead bins, leather seats and adjustable head rests.

"It's a very big deal for the business traveler because it's a much roomier RJ," Pittsburgh International Airport spokeswoman JoAnn Jenny said.

American has six flights a day to Chicago from Pittsburgh.
