Wesco International Inc., a distributor of electrical and industrial products based in Station Square, continues its acquisition run with the purchase of Hazmasters Inc.

The Ontario-based safety products company has 14 branches in Canada and generates $80 million in revenue per year. The deal is expected to close sometime this month.

Wesco has placed an emphasis on Canadian acquisitions in the past several years.

Last month, it bought LaPrairie, an Ontario-based wholesale distributor of electrical products.

In 2012, it acquired two Canadian electrical products distributors -- EECOL Electric Corp. and Trydor Industries Ltd.

In its annual report, released last month, the company signaled that more such moves are in store.

"We believe that the highly fragmented nature of the electrical and industrial distribution industry will continue to provide acquisition opportunities," Wesco's report stated.

The company posted net income of $276.5 million in 2013 on sales of $7.5 billion.
