Woman injured while waiting for bus

A woman waiting for a bus at Port Authority shelter in Green Tree was injured when a car crashed into the structure.

The accident at Noblestown Road and Mansfield Avenue occurred about 1:40 p.m.

The woman and the man driving the vehicle that crashed both were injured and taken to Allegheny General Hospital, said Port Authority spokesman Jim Ritchie.

Mr. Ritchie said the woman suffered a head injury and the man had a minor knee injury. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, he said.

The accident remains under investigation.
