A New Castle man was killed and two others injured in a shooting late Sunday at an apartment complex in Ellwood City, Lawrence County.

State police in the New Castle barracks said the shooting took place around 10:15 p.m. at the Walnut Ridge Apartments, a public housing complex on Loop Street.

Thomas Lee Everett Paris, 43, of New Castle, was shot once and driven from the complex in a private vehicle, police said. Its driver stopped in the parking lot of The Ranch restaurant along Route 65 in Wayne, where police said they found Mr. Paris dead in the vehicle.

Rashund Alteric Smith, 34, and Jessica Lynn Jackson, 29, both of New Castle, were flown to UPMC Presbyterian with what police described as non-life threatening injuries. Ms. Jackson had been shot once, and Mr. Smith suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Police believe the shooting stemmed from an ongoing domestic dispute between Mr. Smith and a woman they did not name.

No arrests have been made.
