Chaka Khan is forced to cancel as headliner of this weekend's JazzLive International Festival.
Chaka Khan, who was to headline the free JazzLive International concert in the Pittsburgh Cultural District on Sunday night, has canceled her performance due to illness.
According to her manager, Tammy McCrary, the R&B singer is under doctor's orders to rest her vocal cords. She is also pushing back the release of her new album "The iKahn Project: Alive" from July 2 to the fall.
"Due to her doctor's orders, it's best that we move the date to give her the proper and adequate time to promote and market the new album," Ms. McCrary said in a news release.
The singer will attend the Apollo Spring Gala in her honor on Monday at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York.
There are no details yet on who will replace her at the JazzLive event, presented by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
