A Mercer County man shot during a police chase has been ordered to stand trial.

Thirty-year-old Darren Millhoff, of Farrell, is charged with assault, fleeing police, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and related crimes.

Police say Hermitage and state police chased Mr. Millhoff for about 10 miles at speeds of more than 70 mph on Jan. 7.

Police say at one point, Mr. Millhoff drove off while an officer had him in a headlock, dragging the officer for some distance.

Police shot Mr. Millhoff several times and he was initially listed in critical condition at a Pittsburgh hospital.

He wore a bandage and had several pins in his right hand at his preliminary hearing on Friday.
