Authorities were investigating the seventh likely heroin overdose death in Western Pennsylvania in recent days.

Joshua Aaron Mulheren, 22, of Derry Township, was found dead yesterday, state police in Greensburg said, making him the third suspected heroin fatality in Westmoreland County in the past week. A married couple in Vandergrift, about 30 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, was found dead in their home of apparent overdoses on Thursday.

Also since Thursday, three people in Pittsburgh have died of suspected overdoses and on Nov. 5 an Indiana University of Pennsylvania student from suburban Pittsburgh was found dead.

Authorities have not said if any of the deaths are related. In June, nine people died in Allegheny County from a mix of heroin and fentanyl and about 50 others overdosed but survived.
