“The Simpsons Movie” (6 p.m. on FXX)

Why a movie? Why not? Springfield finds itself under a dome. (Take THAT, CBS! Although, yeah, Stephen King wrote the book before the Simpsons got around to this whole dome thing.)

To quote the 2007 review from The New York Times’ A.O. Scott: “ ‘The Simpsons Movie,’ in the end, is as good as an average episode of ‘The Simpsons.’ In other words, I’d be willing to watch it only — excuse me while I crunch some numbers here — 20 or 30 more times.”

(This has been another Springfield Moment, pointing out the blatantly obvious until the “Every. Simpsons. Ever” marathon on FXX ends on Labor Day.)
