WTAE-TV and KDKA-TV lead local stations with 25 nominations in the 2014 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards, followed by WQED Multimedia (23) and WPXI-TV (11). Nominations were announced earlier tonight.
In addition, Duquesne University scored two nominations in the college category.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Mid-Atlantic chapter, which includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, received 791 entries in 76 Emmy categories. Of these, 298 were nominated.
The winners of the 32nd annual awards will be announced Sept. 20 at the Philadelphia Hilton Hotel.
• JD Greene is the new program director and afternoon host for BIG 104.7-FM’s new country format. He will be on air from 3-7 p.m. weekdays, effective immediately.
• WJAS-AM (1320) has picked up syndicated talk show host Dave Ramsey, who can be heard weeknights from 8-11. The station flipped formats from standards to all-talk last week.
