A new musical based on the music of the late rapper Tupac Shakur and a book by Todd Kreidler, a 1996 Duquesne University graduate and an August Wilson protege, will premiere on Broadway at the Palace Theatre May 26 under the direction of Kenny Leon ("The Mountaintop," "Fences"). "Holler If Ya Hear Me," which takes its title from a Shakur song, is an original story and not biographical. It will be produced by the rapper's mother, Afeni Shakur, along with Pittsburgh native Eric L. Gold, Chunsoo Shin and Jessica Green, Playbill.com reports.
