Bobby McFerrin, Ramsey Lewis, the Monty Alexander Trio and a pairing of The Manhattan Transfer with Take 6 will highlight the 30th annual Jazz Concert Season at the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild.
The MCG Jazz series begins with Mr. McFerrin on Sept. 23 and runs through April 21. Three of the concerts will be recorded live and released on the Grammy-winning MCG Jazz label.
“I love the fact that we finally will have Bobby McFerrin here at the Center,” says Marty Ashby, VP and executive producer of MCG Jazz. “Also, the three recording projects with the large ensembles and guests next spring are pretty amazing to pull together. And finally, it is great to showcase young talent with Joey Alexander's Trio and then the ‘Under 30 for the 30th’ show where all the cats will be young lions that are moving this music forward.”
