North Hills pianist Hannah Che won the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra's annual concerto competition held over the weekend at Heinz Hall. The 17-year-old home-schooled senior studies with Marina Lupinacci.

Her prize is the opportunity to perform Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2, first movement, with the PYSO May 19. Miss Che's other awards include the Pittsburgh Concert Society Young Artist winner and Steinway Young Artist award. Hannah also plays in the orchestra's first violin section.
