Forget the Golden Globes or Critics' Choice Awards. Real movie buffs know that Oscar is king, and watching the Academy Awards is serious business. Most of us stay home with a pizza and people who promise not to talk except during the boring parts. The partiers head over to Heinz Field, where the Pittsburgh Film Office will hold its 13th Annual Lights! Glamour! Action! Oscar gala, complete with black tie and a live telecast of the show. But a lucky few will do something truly Oscar worthy: walk their own red carpet.

The Fairmont Pittsburgh is offering an Oscar package on Feb. 24 that promises to make guests feel like the movie stars who have stayed there -- Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Channing Tatum, Marion Cotillard, Christian Bale, Sienna Miller and Steve Carell. The "Academy Award-Winning Package" includes overnight accommodations in a Grand Luxury Suite and an assortment of amenities and services. Accommodations for up to 10 guests in a grand luxury suite and three additional guest rooms are included, along with valet parking for four vehicles, a 52-inch in-suite flat screen TV on which to watch the 85th Academy Awards, in-room butler service and a lavish spread of champagne, caviar and assorted hors d'oeuvres. The hotel will even provide voting ballots and an Oscar statue created by pastry chef James Wroblewski. In addition, Fairmont Pittsburgh will literally roll out the red carpet for guests when they arrive. Whether guests wear their evening gowns or sweats, they'll be treated like celebrities from the moment they arrive until the last statue is handed out.

There are four Fairmont Oscar packages available for $2,850. Reservations must be made by Feb. 20, and advance purchase is required. For more information or reservations, contact Michael Dougherty at 412-773-8800. If the Pittsburgh Film Office benefit is more to your liking, tickets range from $500 to $125, or $75 with a six-ticket minimum. Call 1-888-71-TICKETS or www.pghfilm.org.
