The Post-Gazette reviews movies from a family perspective:

'Getaway'

Rated: PG-13.

Suitable for: Teens and older (as long as they're not prone to motion sickness).

What you should know: Ethan Hawke is a former race car driver sent on a wild chase throughout Sofia, Bulgaria, in an effort to save his wife, who was kidnapped. Selena Gomez plays a fellow American who becomes an unwitting hostage and then partner with the driver in an effort to rescue his spouse.

Language: At least one use of profanity and steady use of the s-word, particularly by Ms. Gomez's character, and the stronger form of "heck." Also, the raising of a middle finger.

Sexual situations and nudity: None.

Violence/scary situations: From start to finish. A woman is kidnapped and her home left in disarray, with blood on the floor. She is held captive by toughs who treat her harshly, with no guarantee of freedom. Most of the scary stuff comes when Mr. Hawke's character is ordered to speed recklessly through public parks, streets and other places, elude the police and cause scores of other vehicles to crash. Story also has guns waved around or discharged, explosions, a robbery and nonstop menace from a mysterious voice communicating with the race car driver by phone.

Drug and alcohol use: Martinis are served.
