'Dance Mom' hearing postponed

A hearing for "Dance Mom" Kelly Hyland was adjourned Monday until May 5 at the Bronx County Courthouse. Mrs. Hyland, whose two daughters were part of the Abby Lee Miller competitive team on the Lifetime reality series, "Dance Moms," has been charged with assault after she and Ms. Miller got into an argument last fall back stage at a competition.

Mrs. Hyland of Murrysville was charged with slapping the dance instructor and pulling her hair. She in turn claimed recently in a $5 million suit against Ms. Miller and the show's producers, Collins Avenue Entertainment, that she had been instructed to leave the scene of the incident -- which was broadcast in an episode of the program in February -- in order to ramp up the drama for television. -- Maria Sciullo
