Ms. Parker, best known for her TV roles in “Weeds,” “Angels in America” and the film “Fried Green Tomatoes,” will have a conversation with WESA-FM’s Josh Raulerson. Ms. Parker’s book, “Dear Mr. You,” renders the singular arc of a woman’s life through letters she composes to the men, real and hypothetical, who have informed the person she is today. A book signing will follow the lecture. For tickets, $21, www.pittsburghlectures.org or 412-622-8866. Tickets include a paperback copy of “Dear Mr. You.” Additional copies of her book also will be available for purchase.

He’s probably best known for NBC’s “Undateable” and his Netflix special, “I’m Brent Morin.” Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursday, 7:30 and 9:45 p.m. Friday, and 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday. SATURDAY

John McIntire’s Dangerously Live Comedy Talk Show “Crazy America, For You and Me” will take place at the Parkway Theater, 644 Broadway Ave., Stowe, at 8 p.m. It’s a comedic look at the crazy times in which we live and what, if anything, can be done about it. Stop crying long enough to laugh, at least for a little while. The show includes stand-up comedy from Mr. McIntire and analysis by a panel of experts: featured comedian Gab Bonesso, renowned forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht and Braddock Mayor and recent U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman. Alcohol is available for a suggested donation/cash-only bar. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $15 cash at the door. For more info: https://www.facebook.com/www.parkwaytheater.org.

SATURDAY

A documentary about the old Pittsburgh Post-Gazette presses by award-winning Pittsburgh filmmaker Ken Love will premiere at 1 and 1:45 p.m. at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Oakland. Mr. Love used technologically innovative 3-D equipment to make the documentary, and it will be shown on special 3-D Rembrandt TVs that provide the visual effect without the use of special glasses. Photographs of the now shuttered pressroom by Post-Gazette photo editor Jim Mendenhall also will be displayed. The free program will continue until 4 p.m. with a panel discussion about the presses, the workers, the newspaper’s history, technology and change. Information: www.carnegielibrary.org/event.
