![]() Aguilera auction to aid battered women
Tuesday, July 15, 2003
Christina Aguilera, formerly of Wexford, is using her status as one of America's hottest young celebrities to help the Women's Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, auctioning off front-row seats and backstage passes to her Pittsburgh show -- July 28 at the Mellon Arena -- and other dates around the country through the Web site StubHub.com.
The Aguilera package also features an autographed photo and a copy of her latest CD, "Stripped." The singer says, "I want people to understand how important it is to provide a safe place for battered women to seek help."
Tourmate Justin Timberlake is also auctioning off front-row seats and backstage passes to the co-headlining "Justified and Stripped" tour through the site to benefit the Justin Timberlake Foundation.
