![]() City Scene: IMAX 'Star Wars' at Rangos theater
Tuesday, October 22, 2002
Carnegie Science Center's Rangos Omnimax Theater will offer the IMAX version of "Star Wars -- Episode II: Attack of the Clones" from Nov. 1 through the end of the year. The latest chapter of George Lucas' epic has been remastered into the IMAX large-screen format, in which the image appears on an eight-story screen without loss of picture quality and the soundtrack contains 12,000 watts.
This is the first time Carnegie Science Center has offered one of the small but increasing number of theatrical movies that have been converted to the IMAX format. "Star Wars" will run Wednesdays through Sundays with tickets costing $10 for adults and $8 for children ages 3-18. For more information: 412-237-3400.

Conductor for hire
Lucas Richman has a good job as Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra resident conductor, but running an orchestra of one's own is a goal of most baton bearers. Nov. 7 he will lead a concert that's essentially an audition to head the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra at Capitol Music Hall in Wheeling, W.Va. Richman is one of six candidates who will appear with the WSO this season.
