A program of the Holy Family Institute in Emsworth will be featured on tonight's "48 Hours," airing at 10 on CBS. The episode, hosted by Dan Rather and with a theme of "It's All in Your Head," will be devoted to the brain and brain function.
CBS came here for the Institute for Learning Abilities, a clinic that helps children and adults overcome cognitive and learning disorders. It uses an innovative European technique called the Bellefonds Method that seeks to retrain the brain.
The hourlong news show will be broken into four segments dealing with Alzheimer's, autism, learning disabilities and stroke. The Institute for Learning Abilities is one of a handful of U.S. facilities licensed to train and treat with the Bellefonds Method.
It's been used to treat people with attention disorders, high-functioning autism, behavioral instability associated with impaired learning, learning problems caused by developmental disorders, auditory or visual difficulties, and psychomotor difficulties.
