Penguins, Blackhawks Complete Trade
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins on
Wednesday acquired defenseman Tuomas Gronman from the
Chicago Blackhawks for center Greg Johnson.
Gronman appeared in six games with Indianapolis of the
International Hockey League this season, collecting three
assists and six penalty minutes. He played 16 games with
the Blackhawks last season, registering one assist and 13
penalty minutes. He will be assigned to Syracuse of the
American Hockey League.
Johnson was acquired from the Detroit Red Wings on
Jan. 27 for Tomas Sandstrom. He appeared in five games
this season, recording one goal and two penalty minutes,
and in 32 games with the Penguins last season, when he
had seven goals and nine assists.
