Weights of snow,
bow strong, slim branches.
Bitter winds penetrate
down-filled coats.
Plastic shovels,
scraping at the ice.
Dogs disappear
into banks of snow.
Chipmunks dig
into earthen walls,
sleeping 'til the next bird sings.
Warm fires burn
in glowing houses,
where children sleep,
snowflakes dancing in their dreams.
A week to remember.
Winter Storm.
