Does is matter where you list a player?

Steelers Q&A with Ed Bouchette

Q: Does it matter what position, other than QB you list a player at, in regards to how you actually use them on game day? For example: Couldn't Logan have been listed at WR over Mike Wallace thus putting Redman on the roster and Wallace on the practice squad? Clearly Redman attracted more interest/attention and, in my opinion, was more deserving than Wallace of a spot, when you factor in our pass catching tight ends.

Tommy Coleman, Ann Arbor, Mich.

BOUCHETTE: The only position that matters on game day rosters is that of the No. 3 quarterback, who can be used under various rules in the game. I must disagree with you about Wallace. He is far more valuable than Logan.
