It took him 318 days, but Ross Ohlendorf finally won a game.
Ohlendorf pitched seven scoreless innings in the Pirates' 2-0 win against the Phillies in front of 30,339 on Friday night at PNC Park.
The Pirates have won three games in a row, the first time they've done so since May 4-6 when they swept the Cubs at home. The three starting pitchers in those wins, Ohlendorf, Daniel McCutchen and Brad Lincoln, all recorded their first wins of the season.
Ohlendorf (1-6) won his first game since Aug. 18, 2009, and struck out eight batters, including three in a row in the first and second innings. In the past six games, Pirates starters have gone 4-1 with a 0.91 ERA.
Octavio Dotel recorded his third save in as many days, pitching a perfect ninth inning for his 18th save. He has converted six saves chances in a row.
Jamie Moyer (9-7) took the loss for the Phillies. He pitched six innings and gave up two runs, one earned, on five hits.
Moyer gave the Pirates some help in the fourth inning. He allowed singles to Andrew McCutchen and Ryan Doumit and walked Bobby Crosby to load the bases. He fielded Andy LaRoche's dribbler in front of the mound, but overthrew first base, and McCutchen and Doumit scored.
Lastings Milledge protected the lead in the sixth. Raul Ibanez doubled and Ohlendorf intentionally walked Ryan Howard with two outs. Ben Francisco lined a ball to right field in front of Milledge, but Milledge rushed in and made the diving catch to end the inning.
Ohlendorf hit Jimmy Rollins in the head in the third inning, knocking his helmet off. Rollins appeared to be OK and stayed in the game.
