Dude, we're like... kind of important.

It seems like Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are the only ones scoring points for the Penguins these days. That's partially true. Through Monday's games, Crosby and Malkin are the only players on the same team to each contribute at least 17 percent of their team's offense. In other words, they probably could use some help from some other players:

-The Penguins aren't panicking.

-Bob Smizik says all the pressure is on Michel Therrien and Ray Shero.

-The master plan for the new arena was unveiled.

Atlantic Division

-Rangers forward Sean Avery issued a statement concerning the pre-game scuffle that occurred before Saturday's Rangers-Maple Leafs. He denied making fun of Jason Blake for having Leukemia.

-Additionally Avery, Toronto forward Darcy Tucker and both teams were fined over the incident.

-Flyer fans apparently don't think slashing is a penalty:

Northeast Division

-A brutal turnover by Toronto's Bryan McCabe in overtime led to a breakaway goal by Montreal Mike Komisarek and gave the Canadiens 4-3 win against the Maple Leafs.

-Senators goaltender Ray Emery was injured during practice Monday.

Central Division

-Two goals by rookie David Perron led the Blues to a 4-3 defeat of the Red Wings.

Pacific Division

-Ducks center Andy McDonald scored the winning goal in a 4-3 shootout win against the rival Kings.

-The Stars fired general manager Doug Armstrong in a surprising move. Stars owner Tom Hicks felt the Stars (7-7-3) needed a new direction. Brett Hull and Les Jackson will take over as interim co-general managers.

-Coyotes defenseman Nick Boynton was suspended for one game while his coach, Wayne Gretzky, was fined $10,000 for a fight in a game against San Jose Monday. The fight occurred during the last five minutes of regulation and Boynton was issued an instigator penalty. Anytime that happens, the offending player is automatically suspended and the player's coach is fined.

-Defenseman Maxim Kondratiev, who was suspended by the Ducks for refusing to report to Portland of the AHL, returned to Russia to play for St. Petersburg of the Rusian Superleague.

Northwest Division

-Kristian Huselius scored a goals with 53 seconds left in regulation and gave the Flames a 3-2 win against the Wild.

Wales Conference

-Scoring is down this season by nearly half a goal.

-ESPN's David Ambler, who we're rapidly becoming a fan off, ranked the top 10 American born players of all-time.

-The NHL Network will broadcast 20 AHL games this season. The entire schedule can be found here.
