The PG participated in the rebranding of Pat Toomey

The PG participated in the rebranding of Pat Toomey

In the Dec. 16 article “Republican Political Consulting Firm Grows,” a political consultant is quoted as saying, “They did a great job of reinventing Pat Toomey. ... Back in 2010 he was a firebrand conservative, but in 2016 they did a great job of snowballing you guys in the press into thinking he was a moderate.” Including the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Not only did your paper choose to make no endorsement for president (probably hurting Hillary Clinton more than Donald Trump), but you also endorsed Pat Toomey, one of the few Republicans who at that time did not clearly denounce Mr. Trump or his racist and sexist behavior and statements.
