Port Authority to close its Blue Line Library Friday evening for final storm repairs

Port Authority will close light-rail service at the Blue Line Library at 8 p.m. Friday and use shuttle buses to provide service while crews make final repairs from storm damage in June.

The overnight closure will allow crews to shut off electricity so they can safely replace two utility poles near the Mesta station. The system has been closed between the Lytle station and the end of the line in Library.

Shuttle buses will operate along Library Road (Route 88) from Washington Junction to Library Station until the end of service Friday. The Blue Line is expected to reopen from Downtown to Lytle Station by the start of service on Saturday and crews will begin testing the closed portion on Saturday in anticipation of reopening the entire line Sunday morning.
