Route 28 has reopened after a multi-vehicle crash at the Highland Park Bridge exit forced a road closure and caused a major backup during this afternoon’s rush hour.
Police, fire, EMS and PennDOT crews responded about 4 p.m. to the crash at the Highland Park Bridge/Route 8 split. The road was reopened shortly before 5:30 p.m.
Authorities had rerouted all traffic heading north on Route 28 in that area over the bridge, PennDOT spokesman Steve Cowan said.
