Caption Contest 308 ... and the winners of 307

Stacy Innerst is the artist. You are the caption writer.

There seemed to be a lone holdout on the jury in CapCon 307 [click on second image], and our cracked team of caption writers figured out why. Results are below.

CapCon308 is more seasonal. That looks like an ice sculptor to us, but what is the artist thinking? Send up to three caption possibilities, either via email to page2@post-gazette.com or real mail to Caption Contest/Portfolio, Post-Gazette, 358 North Shore Drive, Suite 300, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15212. Include name and address and identify your municipality or Pittsburgh city neighborhood. Entries must be received by midnight Sunday Feb. 19. Winners get a Post-Gazette coffee mug suitable for holding melted ice sculptures.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) speaks during a Senate Transportation Committee hearing to examine FAA reauthorization and aviation safety on May 14, 2025 on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
