Stacy Innerst is the artist. You are the caption writer.
CapCon 193's play on words (click on second image to see the cartoon) concerning a bagpipe player hit another high note for Eric Ash of Monroeville, now a Caption Contest champion for the fifth consecutive year, while two new umbrella-winners served as runners-up. So the field's wide open, obviously, for contest vets and newcomers alike to attempt clever explanations for what's going on with the four-legged and two-legged zebras in CapCon 194.
Send up to three entries to page2@post-gazette.com or mail to: Caption Contest/Portfolio, Post-Gazette, 34 Blvd. of the Allies, Pittsburgh PA 15222. Please include name and address and identify your municipality or city neighborhood. Deadline: Oct. 8. Winners receive a PG umbrella, good for protection against all the tears being shed by Pirates fans.
"Hello? Accounting? There's a gentleman here who says it's time to 'pay the piper.' "
Eric Ash, Monroeville
"You're a bit early, he hasn't passed yet."
Jo C. Brownfield, Uniontown
"I'm sorry, Mr. McGoon, the ad was for a pipe LAYER."
Mae Poser, Ross
