Penn State researcher named adviser to Rice

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has named Penn State University researcher Nina V. Fedoroff as her new science and technology adviser.

Dr. Fedoroff will serve as the Department of State's chief scientist and principal liaison with the national and international scientific and engineering communities.

The three-year term begins in August.
