Collision kills one in Beaver County

A Beaver County man was killed instantly when a car crossed the center line and collided with the vehicle he was driving on Route 18 in Potter Township, Beaver County, Saturday at 4:30 a.m.

Thomas Bird, 51, of Clinton, died of chest injuries, said Beaver County Chief Deputy Coroner Renea Esoldo.

She said Jay Bishop, 23, of Monaca, was driving the other vehicle. He was not injured, Ms. Esoldo said.

No charges have been filed, but the investigation by Center police is continuing.
