Bus service to be affected by tunnel closing

Bus service to be affected by tunnel closing

Some Port Authority bus routes will be affected by the closing of the Mount Washington Transit Tunnel at 6 p.m. Sunday. Buses can't use the tunnel between then and the end of service Sunday night while workers conduct rail maintenance.

During the closure, a small number of bus routes will be detoured inbound via Allentown and outbound via the Wabash Tunnel. Riders should allow for extra travel time due to the detour.

T service will still use the tunnel but will single-track in the affected area, with all inbound service using the outbound platforms at South Hills Junction and Station Square. Outbound T service will stick to regular schedules. Delays of around five to eight minutes may occur due to single-tracking.
