Traffic moving north along Interstate 79 in Washington County soon no longer will have to endure the curving ramp at the so-called South Junction to I-70 west to Washington, Pa., and to Pittsburgh.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said in a press release that the newly constructed flyover ramp in South Strabane will open to traffic at 5 p.m. Saturday.
The new ramp will carry traffic on a high span above I-70 before merging with the highway at the $35 million interchange.
