The Grable Foundation awarded a $200,000 grant to Propel Schools of Pittsburgh to support the expansion of Propel's charter school in Homestead.
The Homestead school, which serves 185 pupils in grades K-4, is located in temporary space in the Willis Building on West Street but will move to the former St. Mary Magdalene School in September. It is expected to expand to eighth grade by next year 2005.
Montour is scheduled to vote Feb. 19 on Propel's request to open a school in Robinson. It would open in September with full-time kindergarten, plus grades 1-6.
