Part of Route 28 to get final paved surface today

As the Route 28 project continues to take shape, PennDOT will install the final asphalt surface near the 40th Street Bridge today and next week.

The section from the Millvale interchange to the former Millvale Industrial Park south of the 40th Street Bridge will be paved. Paving is scheduled on the northbound side from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. A lane of traffic will be maintained and shifted around the work.

Paving will occur on the southbound lanes starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday and continuing to 5 a.m. Wednesday. Traffic will be reduced to one lane before the work zone and detoured across the 40th Street Bridge, returning to Route 28 via the 16th Street Bridge.
